Axiom Bio

Axiom Bio is an AI-powered drug discovery platform. The new brand revolved around the idea of "Biology Illuminated," real cellular imagery from drug experiments rendered with an iridescent quality that celebrates the cosmos already happening inside us.

The engineers at Axiom Bio are doing incredible work. We spent weeks understanding it and studying each step from liver cell tests to chemical assays, from the data discovery to the AI model development.

The challenge was creating a system that allows the company to showcase their technology in a more accessible way, and more directly linked to their societal outcome: develop safer drugs.

So we sampled more and more test imagery from Axiom’s database and experimented with color treatment and generative AI to reproduce a common pattern: an organic energy that is mirrored by UI elements and effects.

The UI design and component system was developed in a way to maximize the impact of Axiom’s imagery: small fonts, little text, more negative space.

The theme Biology Illuminated is present throughout the experience with organic shapes, squircles and natural spring-like motions and interactions.
